Debit Card Car Hire In The Uae

We now have a supplier in the Uae that will allow payments to be made via Debit Card. This is a totally new service and is being trialled by one large supplier and we have exclusive access to bring it to you, our customers. Much like many other countries, there are certain requirements that your card must meet. However, the biggest difference to other debit card offerings is the way the deposit works. The supplier requires a deposit of 3500 Dirhams (Currently around £750), this is not frozen on the card but physically taken as a deposit transaction, this will be returned when the vehicle is checked in safe and sound but could take up to 30 days to hit your account, yes this is a long time but currently is the only way we can arrange rental cars without a credit card in the Uae.

It is also useful but not compulsory to keep with you your rental agreement, insurance documents and photo Id.

The reputation of local drivers precedes them and you should be prepared for wreckless behaviour, like undertaking and high speeds. • Avoid rush hours in the cities as much as possible and when venturing away from the cities be alert, you are sharing the road with Camels and livestock.
• It is illegal to use a mobile phone when driving in the Uae, bad langauge, road rage and offensive hand gestures could also land you in trouble with the police.
• The Uae has a zero tolerance when it comes to alcohol. Zero, None, Nada.. Do not drink and drive or you will almost certainly be hand a jail sentence.
