Recently dealt with indigo to hire a car in Denmark. Was sceptical at first as I never used Indigo but everything went smooth from start to finish. P.s be aware of currency exchange rates that changed price slightly. Other than that I highly recommend Indigo car hire and I intend to use them in future.

Can I hire a car with a Digital Wallet in Denmark?

Our locations in Denmark accept digital wallets offered by American Express, Eurocard / Mastercard, Diners Club and Visa.

Cards used in the digital wallet facility must be in the drivers name, be valid at the time of rental and must be able to cover the holding deposit of 2500 DKK.

To make a booking with your digital wallet you are required to talk to our reservations team.

Can I use my Permanent TSB debit card to hire in Denmark?

PTSB debit cards are accepted for car rentals in Denmark giving customers the flexibility to leave their credit cards at home.

The visa or master card debit card must be in the lead drivers name and be valid through the course of the rental period.

Deposit are held as a pending transaction and then released when the car is returned, generally you will see pending transaction ‘drop off’ after 3-5 working days.

Do I need to leave a big security deposit when hiring a car in Denmark?

For those hires looking to minimize the amount of funds tied up for the duration of their car hire in Denmark, Indigo offers low deposit car hire, where you are looking to use a debit or credit card for the deposit, these start at circa 200 EUR.

If I am over the age of 80 can I hire a car In Denmark?

Customers who are over the age of 80 can rest assured they have the freedom to explore the open Danish Road without any additional charges.

Are there any Travel Restrictions that apply when renting my car?

Vehicles rented in Denmark are permitted to go cross border. It is permitted to take vehicle to most countries on continental Europe, many of the countries based in Eastern Europe have restrictions against them, so it is worth checking with our team before planning your road trip.

A small admin fee is payable for the cross border fee.

Please note that there is no charge to drive the vehicle in any of the Scandinavian countries.

If I am 19 can I get a rental car in Denmark?

The minimum age to hire a car in Denmark is 19 years of age.

Drivers need to have held their license for at least 12 months and present this at the rental desk.

Fees can be applied to drivers who are under the age of 23 but Indigo will also do their best to mitigate any young drivers fee attached to a rental.

Do I need an IDP to hire a car in Denmark?

The answer to this questions is depending on where the license is issued, for those hirers with licenses issued in the UK or Europe an International Drivers Permit (IDP) is not required in order to rent your car in Denmark.

For all other licenses that are displayed in non-Roman Alphabet an IDP would be required.

Indigo has been terrific.

I failed to book a complicated itinerary myself on the Internet, and was hugely relieved to be able to feed our requirements to Indigo who explained the difficulties and then for us achieved exactly what we wanted.
