Still a relatively new player in the aviation industry Al Maktoum International Airport is set to be one of the fastest growing in the modern era. Starting out life as a cargo airport from its opening in 2010, the first passenger flight arrived in October 2013. Since then it has seen a huge increase in passenger numbers year on year and this is only set to continue.

The tourism industry is still fledgling here but has also seen huge growth. Car Rental at Al Maktoum Airport is one of the fastest growing with some of the biggest names in the market making this airport a priority.

We offer all of our usual car hire services from Al Maktoum Airport including daily rental, long term hire, prestige vehicles and low cost rentals. We can also assist with some of the more specific requirements.

Debit Card Car Hire From Al Maktoum Airport

We now have supplier in the Uae that will allow payment to be made by Debit Card. However, there are particular requirements that driver and the debit card must meet. The biggest difference to other debit card car hire deals that we offer is the way the rental deposit is managed.

The supplier will requires a deposit of 3500 Dhs (Currently approx £750), this is not frozen on the card but physically taken as a cash deduction. This amount will then be refunded when the vehicle is checked in at the end of the hire in the required condition. This process could take 30 days to show in your account, this is a long time compared to other countries but it is currently the only option we have for hiring without a credit card at Al Maktoum Airport.

Young Driver Car Hire

We can arrange car rental to anyone over the age of 21 who have held a driving licence for more than 12 months. Some suppliers will charge an additional daily fee for this, others may levy a higher insurance excess. Either way the costs vary to what is published on our online portal. So:

As you would expect, you can hire anything you can think of in Dubai. Yes we offer the usual small city cars, family cars and Suv’s but this is Dubai. If you so wish, you can hire a Rolls Royce Dawn Convertible, an Audi A8 Limousine or a Range Rover Vogue.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
