Founded back in 1958 it’s another old man of the car hire industry; they started with an original fleet of 10 cars. Budget stuck to its name for a considerable amount of time and undercut every car hire company they were competing with in price. The big expansion came quickly in 1960 when they moved headquarters and began to continue in expanding their fleet. In the next fair few years it continued to expand but repeatedly got sold to different companies, it’s now a part of Avis since 2006.

Budget is a large company that has worldwide branches with more than 2750 offices like Heathrow Airport giving Indigo the option of hiring cars out with Budget no matter the location. We have fantastic deals that we can offer due to us being a broker through Budget; we can beat the prices as we get various discounts and deals that aren’t available if you went directly to budget.

As well as car hire budget also have a large amount of trucks available to rent that’s almost as large as their car hire fleet. This is mostly only available in the UK however if you do want to rent one then contact us as we may still be able to help you.

What Do I Need To Rent A Car From Budget?

In the UK , All named drivers must hold a full, clean and valid drivers licence, valid for the country of use and held for a minimum of one year. A proof of address is also needed which must match the address on both your licence and payment card. If no proof of address can be provided then an address check will be made, if you are not on the electoral register then this will be problematic. Holders of the new UK two-part driving licence are required to produce both parts.

Dublin Airport car rental via Easirent

Very helpful staff, Good quality vehicle and a very easy to use process. Only very small criticism was finding the shuttle bus, a phone call is required to find out you need to go to Zone 18, there are signposts telling you the direction to Zone 18 but no actual signs showing where Zone 18 actually is, but even with this very small detail it was a relatively easy process start to finish

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
