We recently hired a car at Bristol Airport through Avis. The issue i want to raise is the amount of money taken. We had to leave a 200 deposit which is fine. We paid for the car hire but the amount deposited was the 200 plus the car hire fee which,we had already paid. It would have been nice to be told that they take it twice but also that it takes a week for you to get your money back.
Just booked a car through Rob Selby, incredibly fast and efficient as well as a great price for both hire and deposit. As a UK national living in France with only a French debit card, I didn't expect it to be so easy. Provided all goes well when I collect the car in May, I can't think of a reason to book through any one else in future.
