About the Channel Islands

Part of the British Crown Dependencies and not the United Kingdom, in the English Channel are the Channel Islands. Just off the coast of Normandy, the islands are separated into two Guernsey and Jersey. Actually there are 8 islands however all except Jersey are considered to be part of Guernsey, if you are interested in visiting the Channel Islands the there is only three potential airports you can travel to and we cover them all with our car hire services and fantastic deals.

Debit Card Car Hire

Are you wanting to hire a car but don’t have a credit card? This can be a real issue as majority of companies will not allow you to do so. Thanks to our brand new deal we have arranged however we can allow people to hire a car using a debit card given that it meets the restrictions that are in place.

Young Driver Car Hire

If you are under 25 then unfortunately you are going to struggle to get a hired vehicle as majority of companies don’t pay the insurance premiums in order to allow you to drive. We have however managed to arrange a deal that means young drivers from the age of 21 given that they have held their licence for a year prior to hiring with us.

Low Deposit Car Hire

Our supplier that offer us a no deposit doesn’t unfortunately operate in the channel islands however we have come off second best and can now give you a low deposit deal. Free Additional Driver

When you are hiring a car in the Channel Islands you may be doing quite a bit of driving, getting your monies worth from the vehicle which is fine, but this can get pretty tiring. Car Booking in Scotland

I now live in Australia but travel back to Scotland, my home every year I can, which means hiring a car each time. Having use different hire companies and hiring agencies over the last 30 years, I can truthfully say that Indigo stands out above them all for both value for money and service.I have no problem and do refer Indigo to all my friends when traveling.

Dublin Airport car rental via Easirent

Very helpful staff, Good quality vehicle and a very easy to use process. Only very small criticism was finding the shuttle bus, a phone call is required to find out you need to go to Zone 18, there are signposts telling you the direction to Zone 18 but no actual signs showing where Zone 18 actually is, but even with this very small detail it was a relatively easy process start to finish

It was such a relief to hear about Indigo, I had a car hire booking with another company, who only took credit cards and charged an insane security deposit. Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
