                Car Hire Svolvaer Airport

Svolvaer (Svolvær), the biggest town on Lofoten (even known as “the smallest big city in the world”), is the perfect spot to visit an unconventional location in Norway. With a car hire at Svolvaer airport, you can effortlessly experience and explore not just the town but the entire archipelago.

                Debit Card Car Hire

The majority of car rental companies do not accept debit cards, which is one of the main problems a customer can have when trying to rent a vehicle. Because credit card payments are easier to process than debit card payments, renting a car without a credit card can occasionally seem like an impossibility because so just won’t accept anything else. From this, however, we work with a number of suppliers who can happily provide a debit card car hire. It is important though that you enquire with us directly so that we can arrange this for you.

Low Deposit / No Deposit Car Hire

It’s far too easy to lose track of your finances when travelling, so let us help with it. Some of the suppliers we work with may be able to offer a low deposit car hire and help you maximise the savings you get. Going beyond that, whilst we will absolutely give you the best price possible, some suppliers may even be able to provide a no deposit car hire.

                Senior Driver Car Hire

If you’re a driver over 75, we want to give you just as many options as other renters. As such, our senior driver car hire service may be just for you. Although there might be restrictions on this service’s availability and sporadic additional fees, we always make sure that all fees are fully disclosed to you before you make your reservation. Throughout the entire rental process, your comfort and safety are our top priorities.

                Contact Us

                Car Hire Svolvaer Airport FAQs
How to hire a car without credit card?

Rent a car without a debit card is possible, our best answer is to just contact our reservations team we can for sure arrange a car hire if you only have a debit card. Worth noting the debit card does need to be in the drivers name.

How long will my deposit take to come back?

As soon as you return the car the security deposit is released / refunded at the car hire suppliers end, however it normally takes between 7-10 working days for the deposit to show in your account but the time really does just depend on how quickly your bank updates your account. The rental suppliers do not have any control on how long it takes.

Can I drop the car off at a different location?

Yes – we work with several suppliers who provide this service. Avis can offer this for free sometimes but usually is a one way rental

What ID do I need to collect my car?

When collecting the car local customers will need Drivers Licence, DVLA Share Code, 2 x Proofs of address and a payment card in the drivers name. For overseas customers (Inbound Customers), the driver will need to have Drivers Licence, DVLA Share code if on a UK Licence, Passport, Payment Card and return flight ticket. Some suppliers do not require any proofs of address as long as you pass a soft address check. If you have any questions relating to ID we advise to book over the phone with our team rather than online to ensure you have the correct ID.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
