Debit Card Car Hire

Having worked in the car rental industry for close to 15 years, you can rest assured we’ve seen all the most common pitfalls and hurdles that come with finalising a vehicle. One of the most common we’ve seen is when it comes to the payment method. Typically, most suppliers will require a credit card exclusively for payment, however, this can exclude a lot of potential travellers. We have therefore worked with several suppliers who will be able to provide a debit card car hire for those such travellers.

Low Deposit / No Deposit Car Hire

Likewise, with a debit card car hire, there will always be a huge number of potential customers who simply aren’t given a fair chance to travel by car. The initial deposit that is usually required, can in some cases, exceed that of the vehicle itself. It goes without saying that this is less than ideal. Though with a low deposit car hire, we can hopefully pass those savings back onto you! Taking it a step further, some suppliers can even provide a no deposit car hire to alleviate it altogether (we cannot guarantee this to be available, however).

Young Driver Car Hire

Attempting to overcome the age restrictions put in place, particularly on the younger side can be a challenge. Nonetheless, it’s always satisfying to provide an effective solution with a young driver car hire that should, hopefully, ease up the difficulties and fees.

How much notice do I need to give?

Ideally 24 hours notice is ideal, but we can arrange a car hire with as little as 2 hours notice as long as the rental location has a car available. We will of course be more than happy to accomadate any same day rental requests. Get in touch with our team so we can help.

Can I drop the car off at a different location?

Yes – we work with several suppliers who provide this service. Avis can offer this for free sometimes but usually is a one way rental

How long will my deposit take to come back?

As soon as you return the car the security deposit is released / refunded at the car hire suppliers end, however it normally takes between 7-10 working days for the deposit to show in your account but the time really does just depend on how quickly your bank updates your account. The rental suppliers do not have any control on how long it takes.

Can my car be delivered?

We only offer delivery and collection on 7 day plus rentals in selected parts of the UK, we do however offer a pick up service throughout the UK. This means you will be collected from your home address and taken to the nearest rental location to complete the handover of the car. This service is not available to book online, please reach out to our reservations team to request this service.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
