One of our most popular services (and for good reason) is a debit card car hire. Typically, suppliers will only accept credit cards as a valid payment method. This of course can cause many issues for customers, be it that they don’t have a credit card or simply prefer to use a debit card. Either way, we still want to provide options and flexibility.

No Deposit Car Hire

Whether you have experience in renting a vehicle or are a complete novice, the initial deposit can be quite daunting. As such, we can offer a no-deposit car hire at various locations in the state. However, it is important that you contact us beforehand to ensure everything is suitable for you!

Young Driver Car Hire

If you’re under 21 and have attempted to arrange a rental, you’re undoubtedly aware of the restrictions suppliers typically have in place when it comes to age. Free Additional Driver

Car Hire Ohio FAQs

How long will my deposit take to come back?

As soon as you return the car the security deposit is released / refunded at the car hire suppliers end, however it normally takes between 7-10 working days for the deposit to show in your account but the time really does just depend on how quickly your bank updates your account. The rental suppliers do not have any control on how long it takes.

Can I drop the car off at a different location?

Yes – we work with several suppliers who provide this service. Avis can offer this for free sometimes but usually is a one way rental

How much notice do I need to give?

Ideally 24 hours notice is ideal, but we can arrange a car hire with as little as 2 hours notice as long as the rental location has a car available. We will of course be more than happy to accommodate any same day rental requests. Get in touch with our team so we can help.

Can my car be delivered?

We only offer delivery and collection on 7 day plus rentals in selected parts of the UK, we do however offer a pick up service throughout the UK. This means you will be collected from your home address and taken to the nearest rental location to complete the handover of the car. This service is not available to book online, please reach out to our reservations team to request this service.

I was struggling to hire a car for my holiday in Northern Ireland with just a debit card. I tried Indigo car hire. They were very prompt in responding to my email. Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
