When you come to hire a car a phrase you will often hear is “or similar” in reference to the type of cars you can hire. Most car hire companies can’t and won’t allow you to get a guaranteed vehicle as its very hard for them to be able to make sure you get that specific vehicle so for example they will say you can get a VW Golf or similar which means that you can get a model of a similar size.
