The primary airport of the Greek island of Crete, it’s the country of Greece’s second busiest airport falling just after Athens. The airport is located around 5km just outside of the city centre of Heraklion, the airports nickname Nikos Kazantzakis is named after a Greek writer and philosopher. Hiring a car without a credit card can be a confusing ordeal, that’s if you can even find a company that do it. Luckily however Indigo have managed to arrange a deal which allows debit card car hire given that you meet our restrictions that are in place.

Young Driver Car Hire

If you are under 25 unfortunately anywhere in the world you are going to struggle to find a car hire company that will rent you a car. However we have managed to arrange a deal for younger drivers which means that we can hire to people between the ages of 21-24 given that they have held their licence for a year prior to hiring with us. Free Additional Driver

If you are driving for long periods of time then you want to take a break from driving occasionally, if someone is in the car with you who is eligible to drive the hired vehicle why not add them on as an additional driver? When you book with Indigo the additional driver is completely free of cost.

No Deposit Car Hire

If you are wanting to hire a car but unsure about the massive deposit that is usually involved with hiring a car why don’t you take advantage of our great offer? Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
