5 Best Tourist Destinations in the World

I have seen many news items and PR stories about the Best Tourist Destinations in the World and they all seem to have their own spin on where you should go and what you should see. So, here is our 5 Best Tourist Destinations in the World in no particular order based on our own experiences.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, was home to the 2010 Fifa World Cup and part of it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a stunning, bustling city with lots to do and see.

For a change of pace you can go on the cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain, where the scenery will take your breath away and the day to day troubles of life are put aside for a while. You can then return to the city find a bar where everyone gets lost in the rhythm of the salsa and dances until the early hours of the morning.

Sydney, Australia

Be a beach bum in the morning, tourist in the afternoon and culture vulture in the evening, in Sydney you can be whatever you want to be and still manage to blend in.

This city is often the first port of call for visitors and it rolls out a brilliant welcome mat. Sydney Opera House, Manly Beach and the Blue Mountains are just a snippet of the list of things to do here.

Cape Town, South Africa

The most southern point of Africa where you can see all of the sea life you could ever wish for, go to the top of Table Mountain and see the spectacular views in the world or enjoy a visit to one of the many vineyards and taste some of the best wines produced in the world today.

Robben Island, the historic prison where Nelson Mandela was held, is a ‘must do, for any visitor.

Paris, France

The ‘City of Romance’ Paris has more tourist attractions than anyone can see in one brief holiday. With a city based apartment and a couple of months you may get around to seeing some of the less well known treasures of this city and not just the Eiffel Tower and Louvre. Some of the restaurants here serve food and wine that will change the way you think about what you consume forever.

Yorkshire, England

Obviously not being biased at all… :) Yorkshire has won the award for Europe’s Leading Tourist Destination twice in the past and was also the hosted the Grand Depart back in 2014.

Yorkshire features over 800 attractions, from World Heritage Sites to mining museums, ruined castles and abbeys, to hands on museums. You’ll find serene gardens and unique breweries, thrilling rides and industrial heritage.

From attractions and museums to sports and galleries, from the history-lover to the inquisitive child, there’s something for everyone.

What would make your list of the 5 Best Tourist Destinations in the World? Let us know, maybe they will make our list next time..

Having worked in the car rental industry for over 15 years, he really knows his stuff. Rob heads up our marketing department and as a keen traveller, always has a new location to talk about. Particularly if there is a golf course nearby.
