Car Hire with a New Licence in Austria

Austria makes an excellent choice for your first foray into driving abroad, and an excellent holiday destination in general. Whether it’s a winter skiing trip to the Alps, or a weekend break to see the famous Christmas markets and picturesque villages, Austria is unrivalled as a festive retreat.

But what if you’ve only just passed your test? Austria, like many other countries, can be notoriously difficult to rent a car with a new licence – almost all car rental suppliers require at least a year on the licence, if not more. Fortunately though at Indigo this is no longer the case – we’ve successfully arranged a new deal that enables you to rent a car without any prior experience on your license! So no matter you long you’ve been driving for, we have an option for you!

What Are The Requirements And Restrictions?

The requirements for our new driver options in Austria are minimal to say the least, you just need to be over the age of 18 and have held your licence for at least a day – nothing more. You do need to have the physical photocard licence with you as well, we cannot rent with just the photocard. No extra ID is required either, just your standard licence, passport and payment card (either debit or credit)

You even have a wide variety of vehicles to choice from too, we can rent any size vehicles up to the intermediate group, so the only restrictions are premium cars and 7-9 seat minivans. There’s also no extra cost for it, and all other terms such as insurance etc. all remain the same.
