Ikaria Island situated in the Aegean Sea is not one of the most popular tourist spots, with a population of just over 8000 it is the perfect place to escape and enjoy the tranquility the Island has to offer.

Having your own transport, giving you the freedom to explore is important, there are many hidden gems on the Island that only a car can take you to.

Currently you will not find any direct flight from the Major hubs, and this is unlikely to change soon, as the time of writing most flights are inbound from Athens and are offered with Aegean Airway or Olympus airways.

Choice of car rental in the Island is somewhat limited; Indigo Car Hire currently partners with the only large, branded car hire provider servicing the airport. We offer a meet and greet service, so essentially on arrival one our representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals halls with a board that displays your name.

Debit Card Car Hire Ikaria

For those renters looking to pay for the car hire and security deposit with a Visa and Master card, we have a package which allows them to do so. Essentially it is a case of paying to eliminate your insurance excess, this then allows the use of the driver’s debit card to cover the reduced refundable holding deposit, at the time or writing the cost per day to reduce your excess to zero is 8 EUR per day, and in turns reduces the refundable deposit to 200 EUR. This deposit is then released back onto the renter’s debit card when the vehicle is returned. The added benefit of the Full Damage Waiver (FDW) is the peace of mind that brings, if the car is accidentally damaged whist on hire, you simply turn it in without any questions asked.

It is regret that we do not have too much of an offering for our senior drivers, the maximum drivers age is 75, although on the opposite end of the scale
