Dog Friendly Campervan Hire

Dog Friendly Campervan Hire

A trip with the family is one thing, but a trip with a camper van outdoors is something entirely unique you have to experience for yourself. Whether your family consists of the wife and kids, if you have an extra furry friend, you’ll undoubtedly want to take them along with you. With a dog friendly campervan hire, you won’t have to worry about leaving them, and instead bring them with you on your adventure!

Can I Bring My Dog When Hiring A Campervan?

Through the number of suppliers we work with, they each have a different range of vehicles available that would be suited for pets, rest assured though that there are a number of options available, albeit, typically with a charge for having a pet in the vehicle. The reason for pets having an additional cost comes from the mess, intentional or otherwise that they can create. Of course, if everything remains relatively clean you are very unlikely to be charged a cleaning fee on top.

How Much Does It Cost To Bring A Dog?

Whilst we can’t necessarily give an exact figure, the additional costs can come in the form of a simple one-time fee, whilst other suppliers can incur a daily charge. On our side, we can guarantee to try and offer you the absolute best deal possible for whatever suits your needs. If you are planning on renting for a significant duration, the daily charge is likely to be high.

Dog Friendly Campsites

Rated as the best all-round campsite in 2023, Chalky Downs in Brighton is the perfect spot for any traveller, seasoned or otherwise. With full accommodation of campervans and dogs (although costing £1 per night, per dog), it has plenty of onsite facilities so you won’t be stranded. Alternatively, there is Mynydd Mawr campsite in North Wales that will prove to be a more quaint but equally worthwhile choice to visit. The campsite accommodates campervans and dogs without any excess charge.

Pet Safety When Driving

Keeping your pet safe when driving is of the utmost importance. Whilst you may assume that because of the space in a campervan, they’d be fine to roam free, but better safe than sorry. One simple way you can keep them secure is through a carrier or cage. Whilst the cage does provide more movement, the carrier is very convenient for transportation, however as long as you ensure they are secure and drive safely there shouldn’t be an issue.

Things To Pack When Travelling With Your Dog

Aside from the basics of food and cleaning suppliers, effectively securing your pet is another important factor. As mentioned, this can be from a carrier or cage, but it’s worth knowing that a leash is in some cases required at campsites. Food bowls as well, though it seems obvious, we all know how often we forget the most important things. This also goes for any toys or treats that will keep them resting during the length of your travel.
