Hiring in Switzerland with a debit card is notoriously difficult, especially if your debit card is a Maestro card. Maestro cards are a type of debit card issued mainly in central Europe, and the reason they are so rarely accepted for renting is that they lack the 3 digit CVV code that is generally needed for payment deposits.
