Driving In Croatia – What You Need To Know

Croatia has so much to offer from its ancient monuments to the amazing scenery, you won’t want to miss any of it. These different attractions can sometimes be a short or long car journey away, so here is everything you need to know when driving in Croatia.

    rules Of Driving In Croatia:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Drive on the right-hand side of the road and overtake on the left
  • Everyone in the vehicle is required to be wearing a seatbelt
  • Children under 12 are not permitted to sit in the front seat
  • If you are under 25 there is a zero tolerance drink policy, meaning the blood alcohol limit is 0%, if you are over 25 the limit is 0.5%.
  • It is prohibited to use a mobile device when driving, however, hands free devices are legal.
  • If you are travelling between October and March there is a requirement for dipped headlights to be on at all time, including daylight hours.

speed Limits

The speed limit for built up areas is 50km/h unless indicated other wise by road signs and 80km/h for some expressways. In rural areas the speed limit is up to 90km/h. When driving on the highway the speed can range from 110-130km/h.

make Sure Your Car Is Equipped With The Following:

  • First-aid kit

make Sure You Have These With You:
