Spanish Car Rental Companies Fuel Policies

When you are looking for a car hire in Spain it can often be tricky when you are looking at the terms of the rental to establish what the terms and conditions are. One of the most popular question that is asked about is about the fuel policies in Spain.

Many rental companies in Spain often have varying fuel policies when it comes to getting a car hire in Spain. Some offer a full to full fuel policy, some offer a quarter full to quarter full policy however the large majority of the rental companies in Spain offer a full to empty fuel policy.

So what are the differences with the fuel policies?

We here at Indigo Car Hire are here to ensure that when you get your vehicle you are always made aware of all the policies including the fuel terms. Please find below a brief description of the varying fuel policies available for car hire Spain.

Full to Full – A full to full fuel policy means that when you arrive to collect your vehicle you will be given a vehicle with a full tank of fuel. When you return the vehicle to the supplier you must return the vehicle with a full tank. If you return it with less than a full tank then you may be subject to charges.

Full to Empty – A full to empty means that when you collect your car hire Spain you will be provided with a full tank of fuel in your vehicle which you will be charged for upon collection of your vehicle. When you return the vehicle to the rental company at the end of the hire period you need to bring the car back with as little fuel in it as possible. So it is in your interest to use as much fuel as possible when you are in your hire vehicle. Unused fuel will not be refunded.

Many people often request a choice when it comes to the fuel policy when they get their quote for car hire Spain. We are always more than happy to offer this to our clients however in some instances like when you get a car hire Spain with a debit card, it is only possible to offer one fuel policy as we are limited by suppliers.

The suppliers which offer full to full fuel policies do tend to be that little bit more expensive for the cost of the vehicle as it comes inclusive of the fuel, occasionally it does work out cheaper to go with the supplier that offers a full to empty fuel policy as it works out much cheaper, even after you have taken into account the additional fuel cost.

For more details on fuel policies or if you would like to arrange your car hire Spain with Indigo then please feel free to contact our helpful and friendly reservations team and they will be able to provide you with any information that you require and to get you the best deal on your car hire Spain.
