A coastal town in the province of Alicante on the Mediterranean Sea, Villajoyosa is in an area called the White Coast or more commonly referred to as Costa Blanca. The name of the village, Villajoyosa literally means Joyful Village, it’s also referred to as La Vila Joiosa which means the same and locals often abbreviate it to La Vila. The area has over 3km of beach inclusive of La Platja Centre meaning in English the centre village, the locations is a great get away from families down to the fact there is so much beach its always possible to find space to have a nice relaxing time.

The river Amadorio runs through the village making it quite unique, the area is most famous for its tourism industry and surprisingly its chocolate industry as well. One of the most popular tourist attractions is the Gothic Catholic church which has a Baroque alter piece, the village also used to have a very popular casino called Royal Palm Casino which was formerly known as casino Costa Blanca but is now closed. There are also several festivals through the year which one is declared an international tourist interest festival, Moros I cristians.

Indigo is the way to go

Once again, Indigo went the extra mile with their customer service. I don't even look elsewhere when I want to hire a car - it's straight on the phone to Indigo. I spoke to Cherie, who I've spoken with before, and I can't praise her enough! When you are one of the "golden oldies" you sometimes need a little help with the new technologies and requirements and they never fail to deliver. Thanks again Cherie, for your help.

Do I need to pass a credit check if using my debit card to hire?

If renting a car in the UK and you are a UK resident most of the large multinational suppliers will carry out an electronic address check to ensure you have strong enough links to the address provided. However most of the suppliers with the exception of 1 or 2, still carry out the same checks so not unique to when you need to hire via a debit card. Key indicator are if you are named on the Electoral Register and named on the council tax bill.

When renting a car overseas as an inbound client our suppliers do not carry out any checks.

Do I need to leave a deposit if hiring with a debit card?

Most suppliers do require a security deposit when renting a car, in the UK we have a range of options. The best value suppliers would request a £200.00 – £300.00 deposit. However we do have selected locations where our supplier does not require any deposit, so a full zero deposit.

In Europe we have options where you can just leave a fuel deposit of 110 EUR, and there is no mandatory requirement to take the Super Cover as this can be the case with some of the smaller budget suppliers.
