Isle of Arran

Hi Guys, quick question from me.

A large group of us are looking at taking some hire vehicles to the Isle of Arran and im wondering if this is classed as abroad, it is technically scotland but you have to get a ferry there and back, so are there any restrictions in place?

Cheers

HI Rob,

I can confirm that I have checked with one of our suppliers and I can confirm that the Isle of Arran is classed as part of the UK, so no overseas or cross border fees will need to be paid, it is just like taking a vehicle from England and taking it to Northern Ireland.

The one thing to bear in mind is that the when it comes to insurance on the vehicle this covers you for while you are on the road, so all the time that you are in the mainland UK, and all of the time that you are on the Isle of Arran you will be insured, however when you are on the ferry you will not be insured, even if you take out the excess reduction. So please make sure that the likelihood of damaging the vehicle is as reduced as possible when on the ferry.

Hope this helps and if you need any further information then please feel free to ask. :)
