No photo ID, can i hire?

Postby Cherie Walker » 19 May 2014, 09:00

Just had an interesting issue. Customer looking to hire a car, only has the old type licence which is not an issue as long as some other valid proof of Photo ID is presented. However the customers passport is 3 years out of date so not acceptable. Luckily enough the customer is a builder and had official work ID. Just a bit of advice if you are driving on a old type licence, just ensure you have some photographic ID as this will be required. Such as, Passport, Identity Card, work ID. If this is an issue i would advise to contact DVLA and changeover to the new 2 part photocard & counterpart licence.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Cherie :-)
