We understand sometimes that some of our overseas customers can be a little insecure / nervous about driving in another country, even if that country drives on the same side of the road as the country the person is travelling from.

Please see below an example of one of those concerns and how we of course do our best to provide re-assurance, I think the best advice when driving is a foreign country or even extending to area of your own country that you are not familiar with is to take your time, become familiar with the vehicle you are driving, and get a feel for the roads. Please bear in mind the majority of accidents / damage that hired cars sustain occur in the first mile of the car been driven, as people potentially do not do the below.

Thanks for the below.
Little tricky with the collection time as we are going to need a window for collection, it cannot be too fluid, perhaps you can lock something in within the next week or so, obviously I am trying to be as flexible as possible, but cant leave it too open ended.
We do not have toll roads here in the UK so something you need not worry about.
Re a handbook advising the rules of the road not something we have I am afraid and not something you will find from any rental company, we may well have different rules but would not suggest there is anything that will cause you too many problem, put it this way this is not a usual request and personally I have drove in both Australia and the US with no difficulties, re the below and the parking space question I must admit I have no idea, but please see below a potentially useful resource.

Need anything further please feel free to let me know.

Kindest regards,
A few things in regard to our upcoming car rental:
1. Can we make the start and end time of day for the car rental as being the time we arrive at Gatwick to collect the car? We’re just not sure exactly what time we will get to Gatwick.
2. I have no idea if we will be travelling on toll roads. Can you tell me if there is such a thing a pre-paid toll card? Are there many toll roads in England and Wales?
3. Will you be able to provide a handbook of road rules? Although we drive on the same side of the road as you do, I’m sure we have plenty of different road rules. Is it true that a driver can turn in front of you if they see a parking space on your side of the road?
Many thanks
