Union Pay Cards

Union Pay cards have only recently come into the limelight as an alternative to a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card. In the UK none of the usual suppliers such as Avis, Europcar etc.. are able to take these cards as they are classed as prepaid / preloaded cards, like a V Pay card, and simply aren't recognised when put into the card machine on arrival.

These cards do originate from China and are slowly spreading across the globe, trying to take hold of the market.

We do now have an option where we can take this type of card. This is only available from the main UK airports as well as Dublin Airport and to inbound customers, so is quite handy if you are an International customer flying into Heathrow for example.

As it is a prepaid card / preloaded card, it does mean that if you were charged for anything such as parking fines, speeding fines etc.. then the supplier would be unable to obtain funds from the Union Pay card to pay these, which is why we would also require a secondary card such as a standard Visa, MasterCard or Amex in this case, but the full rental cost as well as any extras can be prepaid for upon booking on the Union Pay card.
