Are There Restrictions?
Yes unfortunately there are some restrictions to hiring a car with a debit card. We have grouped these into three main restrictions to make it easier for you to deter whether your card is accepted or not.
The first restriction of hiring a car with a debit card is that the name printed on the card must match the drivers licence name. If it doesn’t we may be able to find an alternative so please give us a call.
Secondly the card must be a visa debit card as only these type of cards are accepted by the machine upon when you come to pick up the rental.
Lastly the numbers on the card must be embossed meaning they are raised from the surface of the card and indented on the other side, you can also usually tell because they will be in a silver colour.
A deposit is required when hiring a car with a debit card in Morocco, this is held on your debit card until the safe return on the vehicle. The amount varies depending on the type of vehcile hired but is generally between 10,000 and 20,000 Mad which is about £750 to £1,500.
